So, I'm trying to build a whole universe.. all of the Horizon Suite.. NESTED within VMware Workstation 9.
And.. So far I've got:
1. Vmware View: Persistent and non-persistent desktops and also local mode with transfer server.
and
2. VMware Horizon Workspace: Two of the modules (Applications and Computers)
ALL on the same box (so far).
As you might expect, for one laptop, this is a lot to handle, but I've got 32GB of RAM and an SSD disk .. so performance is actually better than you would think.
The hardest part now is the "startup" of the Workspace VMs. I've left it at the default RAM configuration and got set up.
Now I want to scale back and use the minimum RAM possible.. just so it takes shorter to gear up and start all 5 VMs.
*AND*.. so I need the Configurator VM running at all times?
Note: I really only have ONE inbound connection at any point .. just to demo logging on and logging off, what happens, what doesn't happen.
I dont have an army of people banging on the infrastrcture. It's just me.
So.. what are the minimums I can dial the VA boxes in Workspace down to without it falling apart?
Thanks in advance.
