Actually, you could use any controllers except for RS2WC040/080. For example RS2BL080. But they are just re-branded LSI, so there is no need to stick only with Intel controllers. Moreover, I think original LSI software/firmware is better. A lot of users cross-flash their IBM/Intel/Fujitsu controllers to LSI (including me).
I have the same board as you, and I'm using IBM ServeRAID M5015, which I cross-flashed to LSI-9260. It works to my full satisfaction. As "IBM" this controller took more than one minute to boot up. Now, cross-flashed to LSI the same controller needs just a few seconds...
